Sam watched jealously as he held her tight. So tight that he had lifted her feet off the ground, though she didnt seem to mind. Her arms were wrapped just as tightly around his neck.

She seemed incredibly happy to see him, as did he to see her.

When he sat her back down on the ground a sweet delicate kiss was placed on her lips obviously without need for warning

They exchanged a few words

This woman, whomever she was, was not like the woman Sam had witnessed Jax approach at the Port Charles Grill. His ex wife to be exact didnt seem as happy to see him unlike this mystery woman

"Sam, Sam!" Jax said calling her over after noticing Sam was standing alone

"Sam Id like you to meet Alexis, Alexis this is Sam"

Alexis held out her hand politely and Sam obliged

"Sam, Alexis is my ex wife"

Sam looked puzzled

Alexis let out a slight laugh, understanding the confusion

"It wasnt your typical marriage" Alexis said grinning to Jax

"She was the best wife I ever had" Jax said interjecting

"And he was the best and the only husband Ive ever had... thank God" Alexis said making a face that Jax couldnt help but laugh at

"How is the baby girl?"

Alexis grinned

"She wonderful. At home hopefully sleeping soundly"

"I have to see her tomorrow if thats ok"

"You dont have to ask!"

Suddenly both Alexis and Jaxs attention turned to Sam

"Oh Im sorry... were talking about my daughter, Kristina. Shes almost a year old and Jax hasnt seen her in what, six months..."

"I cant even imagine how beautiful she is... hopefully she looks exactly like her mother"

Sam wanted to make a face at their cutesyness. She couldnt believe this was the same stubborn, pig headed, ruthless business man she had come to know. He was mush when he got around this woman. Who was she besides another ex wife?

"Are you in town for a while?" Alexis said changing the subject

"Im not sure actually. Im trying to hunt down something for dad... Alexis, he seems to have fallen ill."

Alexis gave Jax a horrified look

"Ill? Will he be ok?"

"He seems to believe hes cursed because he had lost these cards..."

Sam was completely thrown off and outraged that Jax would just tell all his secrets

"Cards?"

"Its a long story that I will explain when I see you tomorrow! I didnt realize how much I missed you until I saw your beautiful face"

Alexis grinned and turned to look at Sam

"Hes such a charmer" Alexis said rolling her eyes

"Yeah he is" Sam replied not meaning to be so jealous

"How about Breakfast in the morning? Ill come by and get you and Kristina?"

"Perfect"

Alexis reached up again kissing Jax perfectly on the lips

"You two have a good night" Alexis said politely to both of them

"You too... see you in the morning" Jax said grinning ear to ear

Sam only tried to smile returning the politeness

After Alexis had disappeared Sam turned to Jax

"You really could wipe that stupid grin off your face"

"What grin?"

"The one thats plastered on your face"

Jax jokingly tried to force a straight face and then led Sam to their dinner table

"Who is she?"

Sam wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery quick

"Who is she? I told you shes my ex wife"

"Men dont like their ex wives that much. Besides I saw you with your other ex. And what about telling her about the cards! What if she blabs to someone!"

"Sam, calm down. Shes my best friend. She was and will always be apart of my family. Not only to I love her but I trust her as I do my family. Telling her about the cards meant nothing to her unless I needed her help. Telling her about my dad as you could obviously see concerned her."

"So why did you tell her about the cards? Why did you say youll tell her the whole story tomorrow?"

"She could be of some help..."

"How could the mommy, ex wife Alexis help? Sam said sarcastically

"That mommy ex wife s not only a very well sought out attorney but she is also a Cassadine"

"A Cassadine? Like the Cassadines. The creepy ones"

"In flesh and blood"

Sam made a face

Jax only laughed

"Guess its good to have a best friend in high places" Sam said trying not to be impressed

"That, and she makes fun of my hair" Jax said trying lighten the mood

"Wait, I make fun of your hair"

"Not the way she does" jax said shaking his head
