"We should go look at the penthouse" Jax said following Alexis around the apartment

Alexis stopped walking and Jax ran into her she rolled her eyes at him "This is driving you crazy isnt it?"

"Its perfect for us and weve been in this apartment for two years!"

Jax was trying to make an argument for himself and the empty penthouse three blocks away

"I like this apartment!" she protested

"Kris needs more room to roam and besides what if we decide to have a baby..."

He knew that would at least get her attention

"Baby? Are you thinking about us having a baby?" she said more shocked than surprised

"You never know what will happen" Jax said grinning and then blew it off as if he hadnt thought about it "Im just saying it would be nice to have more room. It wouldnt hurt to go look at it"

"Ok, ok well go look! And well talk about your biological clock later" She said giving in, and smiling at his now overly excited face

He leaned in kissing her "thank you"

"Go away! She said jokingly pushing his face away

He only tried to kiss her more

The phone rang

"I have to get that!"

"Let it ring"

Alexis went for the phone her laughter ceasing just in time to say...

"Hello"

"Alexis..."

"Ned, hi" she said happy to hear his voice "I was just thinking about you and I wanted to call and..."

"Alexis" he interrupted

"Whats wrong?"

He had a vacant tone

"Everything will be ok. I promise" he said calmly

"Whats wrong? Youre scaring me" she said still calm herself

Jax was now watching Alexis intently

"Alexis" he paused

"Ned!"

"He knows"

"He knows" she repeated back waiting for it to make sense

Silence

Jax watched as each breath came faster and faster, she couldnt breathe

"Alexis" Jax said coming towards her with a confused look on his face

"Alexis" Ned said over the phone

"He knows" she repeated again

"Its ok, it will be ok"Ned said trying to assure her

"Ned" was all that came out of her mouth

Ned could already image her horrified face along with her panicked breaths

"You have to listen to me, you have to be able to think clearly ok? Listen to me"

"Ok"

Jax was now pacing, stopping to listen and then pacing again

"Carly told him"

"Carly" she interrupted

Jaxs eyes widened at the sound of Carlys name

"I dont know why she did. I dont know why now... maybe she needed to one up him, I dont know"

"Oh my God"

"Sonny barged in the house. He wants to know where you are... Alexis I denied everything. I told him Carly had proof Kristina was mine... I denied everything"

"He didnt believe you?"

She knew the answer to her own question

"Im not sure, he just kept wanting to know where you are?"

"He wants to know where she is?"

"I didnt tell him.. I wont. No matter what I wont"

"Oh God, oh God"

Tears fell down her face and she began to shake more and more with every breath she couldnt seem to take

She looked at Jax and he took the phone from her

"Ned..."

She took a few steps and then sat in the middle of the floor sobbing. She couldnt stop herself

Jax hung up the phone and reached for her

"Alexis"

"He knows, he knows, he wants know where we are..."

Jax put his arms around her holding her so tight he couldnt tell whose heart was beating faster

"What am I gonna do? She said panicking

"Well leave here... well get Kristina, Ill have the jet ready, we can disappear..." he was thinking of anything to say

"No, I should be prepared for this I should have known I couldnt keep this secret from him forever. I just didnt think.. Jax its been over three years" she said trying to get herself together

"Well fight him. Well do what we have to. It will be ok, everything will be ok"

He was trying to assure her, he was trying to assure himself

He had seen the wrath of Sonny Corinthos, he had seen the destruction he could cause to anything or anyone in his path

"Hes her father, what am I supposed to do? I lied, I took his daughter from him..."

"You were protecting her. You were doing what was best from her... you were keeping her away from his violent lifestyle. Its all justified"

"I never told him, I know hes so angry"

Unstoppable tears

"Ill do whatever you want to deal with this. If you want to go to court, we will. If you want to be on the jet and get away from here we will... anything"

She didnt respond she only shook her head, eyes closed

"Ive been waiting for this day. I use to lie in bed at night wide awake fearing the phone would ring or he would just show up and demand to take her away from me... I kept this secret for over three years but I still knew it would come true..."

"Alexis you know he doesnt have a case against you to get Kristina!"

"He will!" she said intently "He will" She repeated in only a whisper

Her bottom lip was quivering and Jax tried to catch tears that had already fallen down his own cheeks

He couldnt stand the sight of seeing her like this

He couldnt stand the thought of the precious baby girl he adored as his own being anywhere near Sonny Corinthos

Alexis pulled herself away from his arms and came to her feet, leaving Jax behind

"I have to go get her. Shes not being protected. He could take her... I have to go get her!"

"Alexis you have to calm down. Well go get her but you have to calm down. You dont want her to see you like this"

Alexis tried her to calm herself but she couldnt stop the tears no matter how hard she tried

Jax wrapped his arms around her, holding her. She started to breathe more rhythmically in his arms

"Lets go get her ok... and everything will be fine, well do what we have to ok"

Alexis shook her head

"I just need to get my daughter" she tried to say rationally

It only took minutes to get to her preschool

Alexis hadnt said a word until she said "Baby girl" and held out her arms at Kristinas surprised face

"Mommy!"

"You ready to go home!" Alexis said doing her best to widen her eyes and look excited

"Is school over?" Kristina questioned confused

"You get to leave early today and we can go home and play ok!"

Kristinas eyes lit up "Yaaay!"

"Let Jax put your coat on so we can go"

Jax had just explained that it was a family emergency before Kristina ran to him

"Im not sure if she will be here tomorrow" Alexis said hoping all of this didnt seem to awkward

"I hope everything will be ok Ms. Davis" Kristinas teacher said concerned by even the looks of Alexis

"Im sure everything will be fine" She said trying to smile "thank you"

Alexis held Kristina in her arms long after she fell asleep for her afternoon nap

"Alexis you cant literally hold her in your arms every second"

Alexis looked up at Jax with a delayed reaction

"Shes mine. Shes my daughter. Shes my life... Ill give up everything for her, I will" Alexis said ignoring his concern for her ability to be rational about Kristina

"I know you will and I hope by now you know I will too"

Alexis finally looked at how sad Jaxs eyes were and only saw a reflection of herself

It was actually the only relief she had, a relief knowing he would do anything, that he did love Kristina that much

"I know you will do anything for her. So now the question is what do we do next" she said unflinching

Jax looked at Alexis dark, tear stained eyes. He for the first time since Ned called saw it in her. Jax saw the relentless and fearless Cassadine she so very seldom let out

She was ready to fight
