She pushed the button to the elevator

She looked around everyone seemed to be staring

"Everything ok? You seem like you have something on your mind"

Ned pulled her closer to him kissing her forehead

"Casey called. She and Kristina left about an hour ago"

They stepped out of the elevator

"So do you want to try to move dinner reservations up?"

"Umm can we ditch dinner?"

"Really?" Ned opened the door to an empty house "Are you sure youre ok?"

"Yeah I just wanna spend the night with you alone and not have to deal with dinner reservations or traffic..."

Before Alexis could finish making her way across the living room Ned grabbed her hand and led her to sit beside him on the couch

"Ok but tell me first whats on your mind baby"

"I dont wanna get into some discussion and ruin our night together"

"Are we going to fight about something?"

"No, its nothing to fight about Ive just been thinking today a lot about us and our life and the baby and Kristina and Brooke"

"I mean I think we should let Brooke come and stay with us, for real I mean I need you in my life, and Kristina needs you in her life. I cant imagine how Brooke feels"

"But?"

Alexis smiled shyly at his but

"I just think Im scared. Having Kristina in my life makes me whole, it makes me look forward to waking up in the morning and coming home from work every night. And our baby you know from the day I found out I was pregnant with Kristina I would have done anything to be having your baby, so having your child now just seems like a blessing. Then theres Brooke. Shes apart of our family and she deserves to be in the center just as we put Kris and the baby but God it gets a little overwhelming when I comprehend suddenly having a 13-year-old, a six-year-old and a newborn"

"You have every right to feel this way to feel overwhelmed. Having my family all together is something I never would have dreamed could be real and you allowing me to have this Alexis what Im saying is, that it scares me to death too but Ill do anything I have to, to make it work if we decide to do this"

Alexis shifted on the couch almost nervously

"Honey?"

"Brooke came by my office this morning"

She needed to tell him

"What?"

"She and I obviously talked about her living here"

"And"

"And we had a really good adult conversation and I told her you and I would talk it over"

"Should I be concerned about something besides this whole move in situation?"

"No I think youre right though. She really has thought it through and I really think when it over and done with after the anxiety and the adjusting and my neurotic tendencies well be fine. Im just overwhelmed at the moment and I need to over think it"

"Well I dont want her coming to your office to sway you"

"It didnt Ned it made me respect her even more and it made me understand she wanted to keep her life here"

Ned intertwined his fingers with hers

"I love you baby Happy Valentines Day"

She grinned at his appeasing words

"Can we figure this out in the morning?"

Instead of answering him she began to kiss him

By the third kiss hands were roaming and dimpled grins appeared on cheeks

She crawled over on to his lap

She sat up on top of him catching the end of his tie with her fingertips, teasing him slightly

She pulled herself towards him with the tie now wrapped around her fist

His tie gone, she unbuttoned his shirt slowly giving a kiss or every button undone

Alexis looked up to see him again watching her every move

Ned began to unbutton the jacket to her suit and then fumbled at the zipper to her skirt

And all that was left

Thigh highs, lacy black panties and a little black slip that gave a slight hint of a protruding pregnant stomach

She sat in front of him not revealing a bit of self-consciousness

It took him a moment to realize she had stopped to watch him watching her

"Like what you see?" she asked laughing slightly and a bit seductively

"Sorry I must have Valentines Day on my mind" he said grinning

She smiled tucking her bottom lip inside her mouth making sure he noticed her trying to entice him

He grinned contagiously already aroused at just the sight of her

With her legs wrapped around him, he picked her up taking her to their bed

He sat down with her still on top of him

He lay back and she followed dangling over him

The diamond pendant around her neck grazed his chin

She had spent her day wondering how she would change her life completely for three little girls and how she could actually do it she thought of him.

Her life with him was unimaginable not to long ago

And though she had her beautiful little girl she was still without him

So there she was another Valentines day somehow by just the right amount of fate in his arms

She watched him disappear out of the bedroom

A second later he was back

"What have you got?"

"Just for you and for our little one, you havent had dinner" he said grinning

"Ned, chocolate covered strawberries!"

Her dimples pierced through her cheeks before leaning in to take a bite

"You are so perfect Ned Ashton"

"Oh Im sure youll be back to thinking clearly tomorrow," he said grinning

She returned the grin

"Alexis I have a question for you that you need to answer very seriously"

Alexis looked at him puzzled at his own sudden seriousness

"What is it?"

"Will you be my Valentine forever?"

A smile covered her face

The smile that he had frozen in his mind from all the years ago when he first met her. When he could only wish for her to be his Valentine

"I will be your Valentine forever and ever, and ever." She said with all seriousness

He kissed her chocolate covered lips and they made love again
