Alexis stood looking at the view. It seemed that the only thing that separated her from reaching out to the clouds was the glass between them.
Like the view? he said now standing beside her admiring it himself

Alexis let the lump in her throat pass as she reached over for Harrisons hand. She intertwined her fingers in his; still staring out the window from what seemed like the top of the world. Both stood there as if they were having an understanding about what was to happen between them.
Harrison had found that he had a place rooted deep inside of her. If it was her past, he wanted to make it present. But he also had found a woman that was not the same. A woman who was haunted by many things and in the past couple of years had to deal with many of them more than she ever wanted. So he promised himself he would do anything to make life less difficult for her because it was time that she was happy.
Alexis turned and looked at Harrison now staring into space rather then looking out.
Hey where are you?
Oh, I guess I spaced out a bit

A meeting, yes finishing her sentence

The night is yours
Alexis walked around the penthouse letting Harrisons scent fill her lungs. It was familiar and at one time very safe. She walked in his bedroom and sat down on the bed. She ran her hands across the comforter allowing them to soak up the feel of silk on her fingertips. She then stood up facing the window, the other side of the city and another immaculate view. Harrison always made sure he had the best.
She turned around still admiring her new surroundings and she walked into the bathroom. She stopped looking at herself in the mirror. The face staring back at her was too familiar and she looked away for a second and then looked back. She felt too calm and so content and it was if she was stunned to see that the same face was staring back at her. She inhaled slowly letting her lungs fill with air and then exhaled.
She turned to walk away and out of the bathroom heading for the living room when something made her turn back to look. She had done that once before, that one last glance to Harrisons bed. It was the day she walked out on him. She had made a pattern in her life of walking away, running away. Things got too complicated and she could leave. She would also allow herself to remove Ned from her head and her heart just as she thought she had with Harrison that was what completed the pattern.
Alexis sat down on the couch. The sky began to turn a pale purple as the fading sun mixed into the blue sky. She threw her legs up on the couch resting her head on a pillow. Her eyes fluttered as she tried to refuse to let herself dose off.
She awoke at his touch brushing down the side of her face.
Hi, she whispered
Hi, he said matching her tone
I fell asleep
I know you were snoring like a bear Harrison teased.

Harrison gave an open grin
Sorry my meeting took so long but I am now at your beck and call
Ah just what I always wanted a cute British guy at my beck and call
He grinned at what he guessed was a compliment
You must be famished, shall we go to dinner?
Have I ever not been hungry? She said looking at him almost astonished that he thought to ask

Alexis stood up and walked towards the bedroom

He walked towards the entranceway where he had lay his things when he came in.
I saw it in the window across the street from my meeting now holding up a garment bag If you dont like it I shouldnt have, he said nervously thinking he had over stepped his boundaries
Alexis walked towards Harrison allowing him to unveil the dress.
I love it, she said smiling and then reaching for it
It was simple but elegant. It was very Alexis. He had good taste and he paid very close to detail especially when it came to her.
She walked into the living room where he was waiting for her.
My god youre beautiful
A shy grin went across her face until she let out a slight laugh
He stood there looking at her
Im calling the designer and Ill buy them out if thats what I have to do to get them to stop copying the dress. It was made for you

The look on his face said that he had meant every word
She leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips but still seductively, slightly tugging at his bottom lip as she pulled her lips away. Thank you

She went to back away again but he cupped his hands to her neck letting his thumbs caress her face. He leaned in and kissed her again. This time allowing himself taste her. Alexis shoulders shuttered slightly as a chill ran down her spine. He grinned satisfied at the effect he had on her.
Now I have to feed you before you start growling at me

Dinner was perfect. Harrison had everything arranged to satisfy. They had even danced a little, Harrison telling her he could never pass up a chance to dance to that certain song, then confessing he had never heard the song before in his life after receiving the dance from her.
They stepped off the elevator and into the penthouse. Harrison helped her with her coat and before he could finish removing his she began to kiss him and he reciprocated.
You make me feel so good, she said in between kisses
I want to make you feel even better They continued to kiss. He was now kissing her neck. You know I want to make love to you

And she then responded by loosening his tie and she unbuttoned his shirt as they found there way to the bedroom. She fell back onto the bed and he followed on top of her. He kissed down the neckline of her dress. The feel of his lips across her skin made her want to beg for him. He undressed her until she lie there in her bra and panties. She rolled over on top of him allowing him to get a view of her. He was telling her the truth when he said he couldnt forget her. A man couldnt forget a woman like her. A brilliant attorney who showed her true self in bed. Before long they had made themselves familiar again with every ounce of their bodies, they had screamed each others name and they had found a comfort that they both needed from each other.
The sun seemed to reflect throughout the room as Alexis tried to open her eyes. She lie there naked only covered by parts of Harrison. He slept soundly as her eyes followed the curve of his arm across her body. She lay there letting the sun shine on her. Letting herself be at peace that she had allowed herself to be with Harrison so uninhibitedly and not stopped herself worrying about what should or could happen and until that second not thinking of Ned Ashton.
Harrison lifted his head, opening his eyes.
Morning he said interrupting her thoughts

They allowed the room to go silent as he started to nibble at her shoulder and let his fingers run up and down her naked body.
Alexis turned on her side facing him, stopping him from what he was doing to her.

Alexis now laid her head on his chest letting her fingers wonder.
Im glad we had that conversation. He said finally breaking the short silence.
I just wanted to warn you
If we ever find ourselves in a situation again where its getting too complicated, can we agree to do something rational about it

Alexis placed her head back on his chest, not wanting have to look her in the eyes and make promises to her.
Today when I stood beside you looking out at the view, I hadnt done that since probably the day before you had left me. I never did because I couldnt see the world the way you made me see it and everyday was the same for me. Today having you stand there was just as it was when we were in London. You made it a beautiful place to be.
