Harry held on to Harrison tightly around his neck as they stood on the terrace over looking the streets of Paris.
Natalie had wished to be buried in Paris stating that it was always her home though she had left it for London.
The sun had covered the morning sky and tried to reclaim the spirit of a little that had to witness his mothers funeral only days before.
Alexis stood back watching the two of them. She was amazed at how two people who had been apart the way they had been were connected. She was sure she was seeing two people who were truly connected at the heart. Father and son who had just lost the most important woman in their lives.
Harrison turned around to look at Alexis still keeping her distance from them. The last thing she wanted to do was to intrude on their time together, their time of mourning. Instead two pairs of intensely blue eyes stared back at her.
Have you been up long? Harrison questioned
Long enough to get my morning coffee She said holding up the cup in her hand
Then we should be safe, He said giving her a grin
Harrison looked at Harry
You dont want to mess with her before her morning coffee Harrison was now making faces that made Harry laugh contagiously
Would you like to join us out here? He said again looking back at her
Alexis walked forward. She wasnt sure of her place there, though everyone treated with a sincere welcome. She wasnt the other woman. But she did feel that way at moments. She could tell Natalie was a wonderful person and a lot of people loved her very much. And though Alexis did have this anxiety about where everyone went from there, it wasnt her place to ask if Harrison and even Harry would come back with her.
Lex come here! Harry squealed reaching his arm out as she approached
Harry was introduced to Alexis at a traumatic time though he still seemed to take to her. Harrison had told Harry over and over that she was the woman daddy loved so Harry didnt know not to and he didnt care to notice that Alexis was completely uneasy at first around him though Harrison did notice. He tried to tell Alexis that she and Harry would get along perfectly but Alexis knew nothing about three-year-old little boys.
Harry reached out his arms to Alexis and she was stunned that he wanted her. She looked at Harrison nervously and then held her arms open to Harry. He wrapped his arms around her neck pulling her against and she at first hesitantly held him back.
Harrison grinned at her and she gave a shy grin back because all she knew to do was hold on to him the way he did her.
I think he likes you Harrison mouthed to her
Alexis only let out a short breath
Later that day they had gone to Natalies familys house to discuss arrangements and mainly to discuss Harry.
Alexis boldly decided she would take Harry for a walk on the grounds while Harrison and the family discussed the situation. She didnt want Harry to be there just in case a certain discussion came about. She also didnt want to be there herself in the middle of it all when she knew it certainly was not her place.
Harrison later joined them after the familys discussion was over. He took Alexis by the hand squeezing it in a familiar way for assurance. She looked at Harrison not saying a word as he then bent down looking into Harrys eyes that were below his bowl shaped sandy brown hair.
Alexis and I need to speak privately for a moment ok. Run up to the house, your grand-mere wants to see you
Harry did as he was told and Alexis couldnt help but let out a small laugh at his little legs carrying him across the grass
She turned back to the serious look on Harrisons face
I need to discuss some things with you

I want Harry to come back to the states with me
I assumed that you would or that you would stay here.
I would stay here but I have a rather good reason to be there
Harrison what about his family?
With a little disagreement the bottom line is that I am his father and he needs me and that it is my decision where he lives. Natalie never disagreed that Harry could not come to the states she just had made her own life here and in London and it never was an issue

Harrison its not my decision to make she unintentionally snapped back
You do have a say. Alexis Im asking you allow me to continue to be in your life. Im also asking you to accept that Harry will be in your life and thats a lot to ask
Alexis at that moment turned her head to the house. She looked around for a moment until she saw a little face pressed against the window staring back at her
Harrison I dont know anything about children and I dont want to mess this kid up. I mean hes a wonderful kid who is smart and beautiful and let me stress the words WELL BALANCED. And I dont want him to have to endure me
Endure you? I dont think I understand
What if I mess him up just by association
Harrison let out a laugh
I love you Alexis Davis and I will get down on my hands and knees if I have to and by the looks of the little boy making funny faces against the window panes he will be happy if I do
This is huge she said shaking her head back and forth
Alexis Ive never been more certain about the two people I love most in my life. Those two people I never thought would be able to be with me together and here we are. He is my son and I will do whats best for him always but you are my heart and I need my heart to love Harry the way he should be loved
Thats so sweet and I know youre being sincere and Im sorry to question you but we work constantly, we live insane lives. You jump from here to there, I can be neurotic as hell and where does he fall?

Alexis looked up at Harrys little hands waving through the air as if to get her attention. She looked up at Harrison and let out a deep breath

Harrison grinned ear to ear and he turned and gave the thumbs up to Harry.
Alexis only shook her head at the two of them and Harrison motioned to let the seemingly penned up little boy run for them.
Harrison bent down again to Harrys level.
I have to ask you an important question. Harrison said to Harrys wondering eyes, yet to get his attention Do you mind if you and I go home with Alexis?
Alexis! Harry cheered humoring himself to giggles
Alexis bent down beside them
What am I going to do with the two of you? she said looking nervous
Harry leaned himself against her and through his chin in the air looking up at her
I take care of you Alexis, he said pointing up at her
She paused for a moment taking in the sweetest thing anyone had ever said to her
That would probably be a good idea, she said then wrapping her arms around him
