Alexis walked into the living room of Harrisons penthouse closing the lid on Harrys cup. She saw that Harrison was stressed over his conversation.
Let me make some arrangements and Ill call you right back ok- thank you
Harrison hung up the phone and looked down at the little boy now holding the cup in his hand as he crossed his legs at his ankles and relaxed easily on the couch
Harrison looked at Alexis as she laughed only egging the silliness on.

Harrison hes funny, look at him
Harrison shook his head and sat down beside Harry on the couch
Lex I have a problem
No you dont, hell stay with me and youll go to New York, take care of your business and well be fine
What was she saying? She was going to be left alone with a kid. Sure they had a click and they played well together but what if something happened to him? What if he got sick or he didnt like that he was in a strange place? She didnt really even know what to feed him. Harrison always had it ready for him. Wait bad idea!

Harrison got back on the phone and arranged to be in the city by the afternoon. He fully believed that Alexis was capable of handling Harry. He knew this because only days before the suited and professional Alexis Davis had jelly stains from a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on her suit and she only shrugged her shoulders and went on with her day.
This amazed Harrison and he couldnt believe how well she had adapted though she still had to take things day by day.
Are you sure you two are going to be ok? Harrison said putting on his jacket getting ready to leave

Harrison picked Harry up and kissed him over and over.

You two dont cause too much trouble, he said looking at Alexis

Harrison cupped Alexis face into the palm of his hands. Alexis I owe you big but more than that I love you and thank you for doing this for me
And he kissed her. Not wanting to take his lips from hers but knowing not only that he had to go but that there was a three year old standing there watching. He pulled away from her. Leaving the taste of his lips on hers.

He pulled her clinching both hands and kissed her again
Kissy Harry teased giggling at himself
Harrison leaned down to kiss the still giggling little boy on the top of the head

Bye, bye Harry waved as if he was quite content with being left with Alexis

Bye he said now letting go of Alexis hand the he had continues to hold.
After Harrison had gone Alexis brought Harry to her penthouse. Her penthouse wasnt kid proof by any means so for the first few self guided tours Harry took she tried to kid proof one step ahead of him.
Before she knew it instead of spending the day buried in contracts and legal documents she had done everything from play hide-n-go seek and the tickle game to having cookies and juice (which she enjoyed.)
Alexis sat on the floor with Harry and played where his toys had made their way out of the bag and what seemed like everywhere.
Alexis looked up to the front door that had just swung open. Peering from behind it was Kristina and Ned both stopped dead in their tracks by the sight of Alexis and this kid.
Hi Harry said throwing his hand up to greet them
Hi Kristina said still stunned and now taking off her coat Who is this? She said now bending down to join them and Ned still stood there not getting past the sight of Alexis.
This is Harry Alexis said brushing the hair from his eyes. Harry this is my sister Alexis said now pointing to Kristina

Harrison had to go on a business trip in the city and Im keeping Harry

So I take it this was Harrisons big secret?
Kristina knew that Alexis had gone to London and the reasons were the death of a friend of Harrisons. Alexis had called to tell her where she was so she wouldnt worry about the disappearing sister.
Everyone by the end of the day became a fan of Harrys. They all took their turn playing and entertaining and he was definitely a one-man show that you couldnt help but adore.
And Ned couldnt help but adore Alexis. He loved the way she laughed at that little boy.
He had never seen her that way nor could he ever image her crawling around on the floor with a three-year-old.
Watching her made him sad. He could image at one time, life being so unpredictable for them, that he be the one to allow her to have the look in her eyes that she had with Harry. Though they never discussed it, he use to think about her having his baby and there she was perfectly playing out a roll that was hidden in his mind.
Ned are we going? Kristina said shaking Ned from his thoughts
Oh yeah
Did you forget we had dinner reservations
No, no I just just in a daze I guessDoes Alexis need anything before we go?
No she said she was fine that she and Harry were going to get dinner

Ned and Kristina left and Alexis and Harry had their own dinner party special delivery of course. After dinner she gave him a bath though Alexis seemed to get more of the bath than he did.
This all was a new experience for Alexis but Harry didnt seem to notice. Alexis in what seemed unusual to herself and everyone else took to Harry. Maybe it was a challenge she needed in her life. Maybe this time her heart knew that Harrison was the love of her life and that Harry would be apart of it.
Ok looks like its going to be dinosaurs pajamas tonight, she said as she poked his arms through and Harry again giggled finding it funny
You are so silly, she said as he giggled more
Go get the book you brought and well sit on the couch and read it ok
Harry ran to get the book and Alexis turned catching a glance of herself in the in the mirror. Suddenly seeing her face sent a nervous chill through her as if she wasnt expecting to see it staring back at her. She leaned in for a closer look and was interrupted by Harry tugging at the pockets of her jeans.
Did you get your book? she said looking down at him
Alexis followed Harry down stairs on to the couch. It had scared her to see her own face in the mirror because she was surprised that it was face. She was surprised that she was in her own skin and that she actually felt this good in it.
Harry snuggled himself beside Alexis making sure he was securely against her. She read to Harry and his mouth moved to the words of the story, as it had been read to him many times.
Half way through the story Harry stopped Alexis and out of the blue
Mommy went away
Alexis was thrown off guard because Harry hadnt said much about her since they left Europe.
I know baby, but she is still with you... You know how I know?
How? he said giving her a puzzled look and waiting for answers
When I was little my mommy went away too but I know shes with me all the time because shes in here Alexis pointed at her heart. And your mommy is right there - in your heart Alexis pointed at his heart And she will always be with you

I miss her very much like Im sure you miss yours
Harry left it at that and rested his head against Alexis chest
And a silence went between them before Harry rose again

Alexis didnt know what to say. No she wasnt. Did she want to be? How could she answer that question?
No baby Im not Harry looked puzzled Im just - your Alexis
My Alexis! he squealed
Harry had questioned and he was ready for the rest of his story like any other resilient kid. But before Alexis finished the story his head fell against her and his eyes had given in to sleep.
She sat there for a moment not thinking of anything else but Harry. His little fingers and his long eyelashes, the sparse light freckles that covered his nose and his little feet and legs that were protected by red and green T Rexs.
Alexis picked him up and took him upstairs. She put him in the guest bed where he looked even smaller. Alexis stood and watched him for a moment and then took the rest of the pillows from the bed and surrounded him suddenly fearing he may fall out.
She left the lamp on beside his bed just happening to remember that little kids were sometimes afraid of the dark and she didnt want him to wake up and be afraid. She leaned down and gave him a light kiss on the forehead in between the hair that had made a part.
Alexis went to her room and got into her pajamas. She again found herself looking at her face in the mirror. Pushing at her cheeks back and forth and widening her eyes and squinting her eyes again and again.
She finally gave up and got in bed. It had taken a lot out of her to be with Harry all day though she wouldnt have traded the day for anything and she could hardly wait for tomorrow. She turned out the light and before she knew it she had drifted off to sleep.
Her eyes opened quickly at the sound of loud whispers coming from the hallway. Alexis jumped up.
Lex! Lex!
She peered into the hallway to see a wondering little boy repeating her name over and over
Hey there!
Harry held out his arms, staggering to her
I got lost, he said almost sounding embarrassed
Alexis picked up the still drowsy little boy
Wanna come sleep with me?
He nodded his head yes
Alexis placed him under the big fluffy comforter and she crawled her way in beside him. Before she could get herself comfortable Harry had already situated himself tightly against her.
Alexis gathered him in her arms. Her world was spinning and she tried to make sense of it all. All that was happening in her life, all that was happening in her heart.
She had fallen in love. She had fallen in love with a man and his son and for her it was the impossible. But what seemed even more impossible was that Natasha Cassadine had finally met her match and she held her arms wrapped around him.
