Epilogue

Jax and Alexis sat at the bar of the Port Charles Grill. Alexis had just finished a meeting over lunch and had run into Jax he was waiting for someone at the bar. Both of them were always glad to see one another and it had actually been quite a few days from their usual crossing of paths. Alexis back was turned to the door as Jax looked up to see his associate he was having lunch with. Alexis turned around noticing the man standing there and quickly turned her head back to Jax as he waved the man towards them.

Jax good to see you!

Alexis paused at the sound of his voice. She was frozen, his voice sent chills up her spine as she listened to them greet each other.

Alexis I would like you to meet an old business partner of mine

Alexis clinched her jaw and she turned around slowly to see him standing there behind her. She was still silent. His eyes were as blue as she remembered and though time had passed he still looked just as wonderful and bewitching as he had the day she left him in his bed in London.

He was shocked to see her and he tried to keep himself from reacting suddenly to seeing her face

Hello

His charming eyes fell upon hers

Alexis this is Harrison Blair, Harrison, Alexis Davis

Alexis extended her hand towards Harrison not letting the look between them pause as he connected his hands to hers as if they were strangers. Their quick handshake allowed thousands of pieces of the past flow through them.

I should see if our table is ready. Jax said not noticing Do you mind if I leave you here for a second? Jax looking to see if the both of them agreed.

Hmm, No go ahead Harrison said now forgetting Jax was even standing there

Jax walked away clueless of what had just taken place right before his eyes

What are you doing here? Alexis said making some space between the two of them

Business, he said without flinching

Business?

I didnt know you were in Port Charles of all places, the last time we spoke you were in Manhattan, he said as he sat down beside her

Im sorry

Ive missed you Harrison said changing the mood of a tense conversation

You havent missed me, she said almost playfully

Yes I have, he said arguably

You should be angry with me

Alexis looked at him with a familiar face. She was concerned for the way she had literally walked out on him.

I was

I didnt mean to leave you like

Its in the past Lex

Oh god she loved the way he called her Lex. He always did. It made her feel warm like she belonged, like he had taken the time to give her a name that was private, between them

Jax came back interrupting their conversation

Tables ready

I should be going, Alexis said gathering her things

You dont want to stay and have lunch, Harrison asked politely

Ive actually already had lunch, thank you

Alexis said standing up extending her hand again, still being professional

It was nice meeting you Harrison, she was still not letting on she knew who he was much less of there past

Yes, yes it was Harrison said playing along as he could do nothing else but let her walk out the door.

Jax leaned over to give her a kiss and Alexis walked away

Interesting woman, Harrison commented as they sat down for lunch

Yes she is indeed, Jax said smiling

If you dont mind me asking is she your

No, no shes not but actually Alexis and I use to be married

Married? Harrison was stunned at the thought of Alexis saying I do to anyone

You seem stunned

Oh sorry. No no Im forget it

Alexis had finally gotten home. It had been and interesting day to say the least and she did everything she could to make it to her couch. She tugged at her jacket finally getting it off of her body, untucked her shirt and slipped her heels one by one from her feet. Her head crashed onto the side of the couch and Alexis closed her eyes

A knock at the door

Alexis shrugged

Go away Sonny

The knocking continued

Alexis stood up and answered the door.

Her eyes widened at the sight of Harrison standing there

How did you find me?

I asked

You asked? Giving him a shy grin at his choice of humor

Youre actually pretty popular in this town

Dont say that! She said shaking her head slightly

Alexis invited Harrison in. She could tell Johnny had already spot-checked him from the hall as he stood at her door.

You just got home from your work?

He said in his British accent as looked at her disheveled look

Um yes do you want to sit? She said interrupting herself, almost nervous that he was in her penthouse.

With you yes

They walked over to the couch and sat down together as Alexis swatted her shoes out of the way.

Im finding it hard to make small talk with you, she said being honest

I wish I didnt have to make small talk with you, he said being honest

She smiled

So you were married to Jasper Jacks?

Long story, very long story

So I have no competition at the moment then to deal with?

What?

No boyfriends, no lovers or husbands

Alexis hesitated for a moment as her brain started to race but she simply said No

Good

Wait youre telling me you see me today for the first time in well, ages and your interested all of a sudden?

I walked in the restaurant today and there you were sitting there with those eyes and those legs he said looking down at her legs wrapped around each other Oh god those legs And I wanted you all over again

How can you say that you wanted me all over again? Now shuffling her legs

I have a great memory! He gave an opened smile

Harrison!

Something brought us there Lex

Like destiny, fate that kind of thing? she said sarcastically

Maybe he shot back

Maybe she said slowing the pace of their rounds with each other

A silence went between them

I didnt forget how beautiful you are Alexis became slightly shy to his compliment no really you look great and

And?

I was going to say happy

Im happy

Are you? Good

Harrison a lot has happened to me in the past five years

Like?

Like I dont want to talk about it right now

Ok - fair enough sensing that it made her a little tense

Harrison reached over and brushed her hair from her eyes

What are you doing? she said jumping a little

Moving the hair from your eyes

He then let his fingers purposely touch her on the arm

What are you doing? she now asked catching on to his intentions

Touching your arm

Harrison!

What?

I cant do this

Didnt feel the spark? he teased

I cant do this with you she said seriously

I didnt know I was going to be doing this, that I was going to be here with you, but there you were and here I am and seeing you

Alexis looked at Harrison who had also turned serious.

Someone broke your heart? It isnt that playboy Jasper Jacks

Harrison please

Wheres the fight, wheres the fire, wheres Alexis Davis?

A silence went between them almost giving him enough time to read her like a book

You fell in love didnt you? You little brat I thought it was the Alexis Davis rule and it seems youve broken them all. Love? Marriage?

Harrison youre not helping

Youre right Im jealous

He always knew just the right thing to say to lighten the mood

Would you like me to beat him up?

No I pretty much already did

For god sakes what did you do?

I ran out on him at our wedding

Wedding number two?

Are you listening to what I did

Why did you?

Would you believe the excuse that I was just being good ol Alexis Davis

Yes I would

Harrison was now sitting close beside her on the couch. He intertwined his fingers with Alexis and gave her hand a squeeze. She rested her head on his familiar broad shoulder.

Harrison what are you doing here?

I thought I was on a business trip. Now I guess Im here for you

I dont want you to be my white knight

You never did

But you always were
