Chapter 7

Harrison watched as Alexis stood in front of the mirror. He watched her searching for the faults of her body and then her face reacting. Harrison couldnt believe that she could find foughts looking at herself.

You are stunningly beautiful, he said knowing just what to say

Youre sweet she responded but almost ignoring him preoccupied

Why do you make those faces looking at yourself?

Alexis let out a sigh looking at Harrisons innocent face

I guess I just can see more than you can

I can see how amazing you are

Im just wishing I was younger I guess

Younger? Whyto be like Kristina?

Maybe

Harrison walked over to her and grabbed her by the arm and led her to the bed pulling her down as he lay beside her. He ran his hands up and down her body as she watched him.

Your body is the reason why man loves woman. Harrison ran his fingers across all he mentioned. The shape of your collar bone, the roundness of your breasts, the curve from your hip to your thigh.

Im going to start to foolishly believe everything you tell me if you keep on, Alexis said letting her finger outline his lips

Then I will tell you over and over, He said seriously

Alexis smiled shyly at his overflowing compliments

Silence went between then as his hands still wandered softly over her body and though she had chills with every touch her mind still wondered

Harrison leaned in and whispered into her ear as if he were keeping his words in a secret Do you want to talk about it?

Alexis turned her head to look at him in his icy blue eyes. What?

Sometimes the heart needs to have voice too. And I could see it in your eyes that yours hasnt spoken in a long time.

Harrison dont

Lex just say what the first thing that comes to mind

Alexis was still looking at Harrison as if she were looking for security

You can even yell if you want, - throw things, hit me, you can hit me I wont cry I promise he said giving her a shy grin

Alexis bit down on her bottom lip

It hurts

What hurts?

My heart

Your heart hurts because?

Alexis let out the breath she had been holding

I loved him

Ned?

Alexis closed her eyes and shook her head yes

I wanted to be his wife she paused he gave me a ring and he never wanted to push me when he did and I truly wanted to be his wife, I wanted to be a grown up and not fear giving anything to him

But you did?

We couldnt defeat me Harrison. We never could get past my doubt even though I would have done anything to be able to does that make sense? she said almost pleading

Why did you doubt?

I dont know she paused for a moment to think, I dont know

Harrison held her close not saying anything. Only letting the sound of the world seep into the room. His hands brushed at her hair where he rested his chin and then he held still. Within seconds he felt a small jolt in her body and he could tell she was uncontrollably crying.

Just cry He said now squeezing her tighter

And instead of pulling away she let him hold her. She needed him; she needed someone to hold her while she finally let out emotion, while she fell apart.

I hate seeing them together and I want her to be happy I want him to be happy but I cant watch her kiss him. I cant watch her make him laugh. Im a horrible person but I cant! Harrison didnt respond he only let her heart continue to speak

Shes beautiful, shes intelligent, she loves life and she can give and love and he needs that and I couldnt give him that I couldnt give you that

I never doubted you didnt love Lex

I did love, I promise and I wanted to love more its just something inside of me that I cant let go of

Maybe he wasnt the right man to give yourself to?

Alexis turned and looked at Harrison and the intentions of his words

I was sure he was the love of my life

Maybe youre still looking and this time for the man who can accept you for who you are faults and all rather than trying to fit his mold?

Alexis pressed her body against his letting him continue to comfort her until she drifted off to sleep.

Alexis woke up the next morning in Harrisons arms. Neither of them seemed to have moved from the position they were in last night. She lay there letting her eyes wonder around the room, her mind thinking and thinking before he started to stir. His hand grazed across her stomach before pulling away to stretch. Alexis smiled at how at ease she was with him. It was like they had never been apart from each other.

Alexis had grown accustom to living her life as Harrisons other half over 5 years ago.
They were a perfect fit, they were each others lover and each others best friend. They were a married couple but without the bottom line. Both of them were intelligent and aggressive and they could talk business but had an agreement never to stick their nose in the others unless other wise notified. What happened? Things got complicated. Out of the blue Alexis found out she was pregnant and neither of them mentally were prepared to have a baby much less were they prepared to fall in love with the idea like they did. And Harrison and Alexis were going to be the parents of a baby girl until she suddenly miscarried. And the it got more complicated and they fell apart Alexis fell apart and left him in his high rise penthouse in London. She and Harrison spoke once right after she left but she didnt even mention where she had gone and they hadnt spoken until the night when Jax re-introduced them in the Port Charles Grill.

Good morning

Good morning

Been awake long?

A little while

I cant believe you stayed in bed, he said knowing her too well.

Its nice to spend Saturday morning in bed with you

We use to could do a Saturday morning better than anyone

Referring to how Saturday mornings use to be when they would actually take the time to just lie around together without worrying about the world passing them by.

Yes we could, she said remembering

Any plans for the day?

Just thought I would waste it away with some guy she said grinning

Harrison kissed at the back of her neck as she let out a slight girlish giggle and then he turned her until he was on top of her. They finished their make out session and they decided to get up. Alexis still laughing at Harrisons antics turned the corner of the steps just in time to catch Neds eye as he walked by.

Ned had stopped by the sound of her laughter. The unmistakable sound and the lasting vision of the way her mouth complimented it, he stood there frozen by it.

Ned she said in her own way of greeting him without letting him get the best of her.

Alexis you seem happy this morning, he said as she walked by

Alexis stopped to think fully before she answered his comment

Yes I am happy this morning, She was now thinking of what Harrison said to her last night as she cried over Ned

Good Ned not knowing what to say of her answer

Before they could get any farther Harrison was half way down the steps.

Mr. Ashton Harrison knowing good and well by the intimidated and what seemed to be jealous look on Neds face that he had made the ultimate entrance letting Ned know that he had been replaced by another man in Alexis bed.

Coffee Alexis grabbed Harrisons arm we were getting coffee now both passing Ned and in to the kitchen

Why is he here? Harrison said now standing in the kitchen annoyed at Neds presence

Probably for Kristina

Is he heartless?

No hes over me

You think so?

Lets be civil and well get through this little awkward moment Alexis said handing Harrison his coffee

Before Alexis could say anything else the phone rang. She ran into the living room grabbing the phone.

Alexis Davis

Harrison stood in the kitchen purposefully trying to steer clear of Ned and to be civil just as Alexis had asked

Before Harrison could finish stirring the cream in his coffee he heard Neds voice behind him.

So I assume you and Alexis are together now?

You could assume Harrison said rudely

Have you two known each other long? Ned was underlyingly tried to imply that Alexis may have just jumped in to bed with him and that he was nothing but a fling

Actually we were together before she came to Port Charles

Funny she never mentioned you

Yes it is funny isnt it. I guess I didnt break her the way you did Completely turning Neds comment back on him

Excuse me?

Ned was stunned by his cutthroat comment

Im sorry that was extremely rude on my part. I just have trouble with dealing with a man who treats Alexis the way you do

I dont think you have a say

My God why are you standing here in her kitchen. Cant you see its painful not to mention the reminder that to satisfy yourself youre with her sister.

Where do you get off telling me

When you see a man like you who shows not only that you have no heart to a woman that you were supposedly in love with but also that you have no respect for her

HEY! Whats going on here? Kristina said walking in to the middle of what now was becoming a heated argument

Both men looked at Kristina as if they were now in trouble

I apologize Kristina I got a little heated over Neds presents here this morning. Please excuse me raising my voice Harrison said and then walked past her and out of the kitchen

Alexis was still on the phone and she had her back turned to him and he walked up to her brushing her arm. Alexis smiled at the sight of him and she shortly after finished her conversation.

You look frazzled, whats wrong?

Ned and I happened to meet in the kitchen, he said being honest

Harrison

I apologize but he goaded me a little and Lex I cant stand the sight of himknowing

Then maybe you shouldnt have know Alexis said defensively

Dont say that, blame it on me being barbaric or at least trying to be chivalrous

Alexis shook her head

Back up stairs buddy Alexis said grabbing his arm

You shouldnt have to hide in your own house

Im not hiding Im taking my man upstairs to LOVE on him she said grinning

Harrison grinned back at her words but he was amazed how in the here and now she could just blow everything off, how this morning she could go on as if Ned meant nothing to her. Over night she seemed to be able to disregard her heart ever being broken by him, but Harrison knew it was the game she played - and she played it well.
