Alexis was now due in a little less than three weeks and she had reached the miserable stage of her pregnancy. Everything had gone as well as to be expected she was just now growing tired of being as pregnant as she was. She was down to spending most of her day at her penthouse trying to entertain herself.

Jax had come by to see her and to try to entertain her and get her mind off of being so pregnant.

I brought you lunch Jax said letting himself in

JAX! she said grinning and very glad to see him

Jax walked towards her giving his ex-wife a quick kiss on the lips and then placing his hands on her stomach

And how is the beautiful little girl this morning

Shes good grinning at the way Jax already adored this little girl

Alexis is there a reason why doesnt she have a name yet

Were working on it

I think you should definitely name her after me, Jax said sitting the food on the table

And what do you suppose that her name be Jasper?

Dont worry I can come up with the perfect name for her! With your approval of course

Jax sat with Alexis for a while. He was just what she needed. Alexis was sure now that Jax could charm any woman even a very pregnant woman.

Ned came home interrupting Jax and Alexis

Hi honey, Alexis said smiling at Ned as he walked through the door

You gave him a key? Jax said questioning Alexis

Alexis threw a pillow at Jaxs head

What are you doing home so early? Alexis said as Ned walked over to kiss his very pregnant fiance

I have something on my mind Ned was no longer acknowledging that Jax was in the room.

Ok Jax said standing up I can see you both can no longer tell Im in the room so Ill go

Jax Alexis said trying to not make him feel like he was being completely ignored

No, no Ill see you guys later, he said leaning down to kiss Alexis goodbye

Jax had just walked out the door when Ned stood in front of Alexis pulling her up

What are you so anxious about? Alexis looking concerned

I was talking with a colleague of mine about something that had been kind of bothering me and he wanted me to go to this place to see if it could solve my problem

Ned what are you talking about?

Would you just go with me?

Alexis agreed and they drove not too far to the outskirts of Port Charles. The grass was beginning to turn green again and the trees and flowers had started to bloom showing signs of spring. Ned pulled into a long driveway, stopped in front of a giant house and got out of the car.

Ned what are we doing? It doesnt look like anyone is here

He came around and opened the door for Alexis and helped her out of the car. He walked her up the steps and to the door and then dangled the keys in front of her.

Ned?

Alexis walked in stunned by the house that surrounded her. This house was beautiful and it was any womans dream.

Alexis wondered through the down stairs and made her way up the stairs. She followed the path down the hall into a room where the sun covered its walls.

Placed in the center was an exquisite cherry wood crib decorated in such a decadent manner that it would only be fit for a little princess.

Alexis turned around and looked at Ned

What exactly was your problem?

Ned looked at her as serious as he could be

My baby girl didnt have a house to come home to when she was born

Youre kidding me, Alexis said shaking her head

Do you think it will suit her?

I adore you Ned Ashton still amazed and stunned by what he had done

Ned and Alexis stood for the longest time looking out the view from their daughters room. Alexis turned to Ned

I think it will suit her giving him a shy grin

Good it would be a pain to return

They walked back down stairs to a couch that sat in the middle of the living room

Was this there before? Alexis looked puzzled at the furniture that seemed to be magically appearing in the house.

Ned led her into the living room and helped her sit on the couch

Alexis sat there still looking around and amazed by the house and Ned watched her amazement until he too started to look around and Alexis caught him.

You know what?

Whats that? Ned directed his attention back to Alexis

This little girl has a house and she doesnt even have a name

Yeah that thought had crossed my mind

Jax has some suggestions, Alexis said almost laughing

Let me guess after him? he said smiling back

Ned I want her to have an original name, for her to have fresh start, to let her be herself. I dont want her to have to worry about living up to someone elses name

Ned was completely marveled at the way she thought long and hard about things. Especially about how certain she was about her daughter being independent and strong.

I couldnt agree with you more

Ned could tell Alexis was worn out and they decided to head back to her penthouse though she had quickly become attached to the house and she did make some protest about having to leave.


Ned crawled in bed beside Alexis he could tell how uncomfortable she was. He would have done anything to help her but he knew as well as she did there was nothing he could do to make the situation really better for her. He tried to take her mind off of how uncomfortable she was telling her the story of the house and then talking about what they should name their daughter. It did take her mind off if things at least long enough for her to drift off to sleep.

It was around 3 AM and Alexis woke up with a sharp pain running through her taking her breath away. She clinched her fists and took a deep breath. She looked over at Ned to see him still sleeping and then tried to stand up to go towards the bathroom.

Ned woke up a few minutes later noticing that that Alexis wasnt beside him. Seconds later he heard Alexis voice coming from the bathroom

Alexis!

NED!

Alexis couldnt disguise the pain she was feeling

Ned! God!

Ned jumped up; running into the bathroom to see her doubled over

I think Im in labor Ned

Alexis looked at Ned more scared than he had ever seen her

Its ok baby how long has it been since your last contraction? Ned said trying to assure her she would be ok.

I, I dont know she said starting to panic

Dont panic its ok I promise. Ill start timing your contractions to see how far apart they are and well go from there ok?

Ned tried again to assure her but he was only trying his best not to panic himself. They werent exactly ready, the baby wasnt due for another 3 weeks and they had both put off not being prepared to get to the hospital.

Ned its another one! Theyre coming faster!
