Alexis head fell back on the bed as tears ran down the side of her face. Her breath slowed and her heart was now the only thing she could feel as it was beating in her chest. Her body felt empty all of a sudden from relief of pain it had just went through. The doctor placed the tiny, perfect little girl on Alexis chest. Alexis held her in her arms just as she was made to be right there at that moment.

Her little pink fingers dangled in the air as if she were reaching for Alexis. Alexis cupped her hand inside her baby girls as Ned watched the two most beautiful women and how both of their eyes reflected the amazement that they had for each other already.

Look at her Ned, shes perfect!

Alexis looked up at Ned and she lifted her hand trying to wipe the tears that had fallen down his face.

Welcome to the world Kaley Gray, he whispered

Alexis took a deep breath as if she were waiting for Kaley to respond to her name

Ned looked at Alexis, well shes not crying, he said grinning

Actually Kaley looked extremely content with herself and her place in the world.


Max stood at the front door of the building waiting for Ned, Alexis and Kaley. He actually smiled an open grin when he saw the sight of Alexis holding her little girl. The lobby of the building was filled with roses of every shape and size and shade of pink. They all marveled at what they knew Sonny had done. Even Ned was complimentary at the obvious length Sonny had gone through to welcome his daughter home.

We all figured we would put them all down here for her, well because your penthouse wasnt big enough, Max said bowing his head slightly and almost shyly at the excitement Kaley had brought to all of them.

They all stepped off the elevator; Johnny stood in front of them as the doors opened, ready to spill into the elevator with anticipation of seeing her face. Alexis held her up for Johnny to see her.

Johnny only spoke with few words and he very seldom gushed over anything but everyone could tell he was taken by such a sweet little girl especially since she was Alexis little girl.

We know Alexis said giving a tickled grin back to Johnny

Alexis did take a good glance around noticing that Sonny was no where to be found. It saddened her at the thought of what had happen between them and she wished she could do anything at that moment to be able to share Kaley with him and it not be an issue with Ned

Kristina is waiting inside

Johnny opened the door to the penthouse and Kristina stood up from the couch, running for her niece.

Alexis willingly handed her to Kristina and they both went and sat on the couch. Ned tended to the million things that they had to bring home from the hospital and then sat on the other couch trying to take in all of these women.

I think shes going to have red hair

You think huh? Alexis said stroking her little sisters hair

Shes absolutely perfect, I mean look at her little fingers and toes and her big eyes and shes so soft and she smells so good and

Both Alexis and Ned were silent, the reality of sitting there watching their little girl was mesmerizing.

Kristina looked up at both of them seeing them both in awe of Kaley

She leaned up to hand Kaley to Ned and she stood up

I should go

What? Alexis said startled by Kristinas sudden movements

You two should be alone with her especially before everyone else floods in and besides I came by to just hold her because I couldnt wait any longer!

Alexis stood up wrapping her arms around her sister and kissing her on the forehead

You are so cute and you are also absolutely perfect, Alexis said adoring her sister

Kristina leaned down and kissed Ned on the cheek.

And then she kissed Kaley

Bye, bye sweet pea youre Aunt Kristina loves you and will see you soon ok

Kristina gave her one last kiss

Ned and Alexis both grinned watching Kristina and Kaley

Alexis walked Kristina to the door. Ned sat there with his daughter in his arms. He thought he must look like a giant in her big gazing brown eyes. He couldnt help but stare at her and think of how over joyed that he was to be her daddy

Alexis walked over to the couch and sat down beside then. It was so quiet it was as if the world was shut off in order for them to hear her breathe.

Alexis? he said then pausing

She looked at him

Thank you for having this little girl

Alexis shut her eyes briefly trying to hold back the tears that had come to her eyes

Ned, thank you for being the other half, Alexis said grinning shyly

Ned leaned in and kissed Alexis fully on the lips. And then looking down at his daughter and then back up at Alexis.

I fell in love with you five years ago and everyday I thought I couldnt love you more than I did the day before. Now Im siting here with you in a way I never thought that you and I would and my heart feels like it is about to over flow from loving the both of you so much

Alexis put her head on Neds shoulder and reached her hand out to play with the tips of Kaleys fingers

And they sat there letting the world pass them by watching Kaley sleep.
