Jax was trying to get into the door of his penthouse (he had just gotten back from his morning run) when the phone started to ring. He ran to the phone still a little short winded from his run.

Yes this is Nurse Martin from General Hospital, Do you know an Alexis Davis?

Yes, whats wrong

Im sorry sir, first Ill have to know your relationship with Ms. Davis?

Shes my ex-wife! Jax said raising his voice. He was getting frustrated at the questions he knew were for confidentiality.

Mr. Jax the paramedics found your number with her belongings. Ms. Davis was just brought in to the emergency room shes been in a car accident.

Jax started to fumble at his words Shes ok right

Mr. Jax it would be better if you came to the hospital

Before she could finish her words he muttered something to her and slammed down the phone.

General Hospital

As Jax ran through the emergency room doors he spotted Monica.

Where is she?!!

Jax now looked completely flushed mainly from lack of information.

Jax you have to calm down!

Is she ok Monica! Where is she!

Jax listen to me! Shes in critical condition

You could tell the weight of Jaxs body had fallen into his knees. He looked at Monica helpless finding it hard to breathe.

Shes not ok is she?

They just brought her in Jax theyre trying to save her

Those words erupted inside his head trying to save her?

Monica interrupted Jaxs thoughts

You cant see her right now - maybe you should call Kristina and can you get in touch with Stefan. And Jax you or I need to call Ned! I dont know

Monica stopped what she was saying realizing she had said too much. Jax was trying to gather his thoughts together.

Ill call him, Jax said as he turned away from Monica.

Jax found a wall and sank to the floor he wanted to scream to get out all that was inside of his head, all that was inside his heart.

Ned was having breakfast with Edward to discuss some family business. When his phone started to ring.

Ned Ashton

Its Jax he almost whispered to Ned finding it hard to find his voice.

Jax, whats wrong?

Ned I need you to meet me at GH now

Jax why do you sound like that, whats wrong!

There was a pause between them

Ned, its Alexis

What do you mean its Alexis

Shes shes been in an accident Ned

Is she ok

Another silence went between them and Ned started to panic

JAX!

IS SHE OK?!

Ned ran out of the room leaving Edward stunned at the conversation that he had just heard.


Ned stormed into the emergency room in time to see Alexis body covered in blood and medical equipment. Ned was starring at her as she got further and further away. Then he found himself trying to find something to stop him from falling when he backed into the wall tears flowing from his eyes from seeing the love of his life dying.

He started to sob as he held both of his hands against his heart trying to cause pressure to his empty chest.

Jax and Monica came through the hallway to see Ned against the wall. Monica ran towards him.

I saw her! trying to gain control of himself

Ned theyre doing all they can. They were taking her into surgery. Right now all we could find out is that she has head trauma, internal bleeding, and some broken bones. So she should be in there a while.

Jax and Ned sat on opposite sides of the wall from each other neither daring to try to comfort the other. This was the woman of both of their lives she owned their hearts in two totally different ways and in the same exact way.

Will you call Kristina? She should know! Ned was trying to think rationally

And we need to see if we can find Stefan

Jax looked at Ned. There were two people that Jax and Ned both agreed 100% on and that was Sonny Corinthos and Stefan Cassadine. They also just happened to be the other two men in Alexis life that truly adored her.

Ill call Kristina, was she at the gatehouse?

She was when I left this morning Ill call Reginald and see if he will drive her here

Jax stood up and walked down the hall. He didnt want to hear himself say it much less did he want Ned to have to live through it again

Jax, hey! she said in her typical cheerful voice. Whats up?

Kristina, Reginald is coming to pick you up o bring you to the hospital

Jax why? Whats wrong?

Jax realizing he wasnt making any sense

Are you kidding me? Whats wrong?

He couldnt say it, he couldnt tell her. He couldnt tell her that her sister could be dead at any moment. He knew in his horrible way of telling her that he couldnt just say it. This was not just friend or a lover or her employer this was her blood, the only person she had.

Kristina please go with Reginald

Suddenly there was a silence between them. That silence that he had to go through with Ned

ITS ALEXIS ISNT IT JAX?!

KRISTINA!

JAX

Then Reginald knocked on the door to the gatehouse

Fine Im coming

Reginald drove Kristina to the hospital questioning Reginald for anything he knew. Reginald new better than to say anything.

Kristina burst through the emergency room doors to find Jax and Ned sitting on the floor again across from each other. They both looked up at her and Kristina knew. Tears started flowing uncontrollable down her face and her breaths became shorter.

TELL ME, DAMN IT!

Jax stood up to face Kristina.

She was in a car accident and shes in surgery and we dont really know anything else right now.

Kristina looked at Jax and then at Ned trying to let it sink in. The in typical Alexis/Kristina fashion she started to panic!

But she couldnt die or anything? I mean it wasnt that serious was it? They just have to fix a broken leg or something right Shes really ok isnt she?

In all of Kristinas ranting she started to stumble at her words and Jax wrapped his arms around her. Kristina again pulled an Alexis as Jax liked to call them and she broke away from him. She took at step back starring into his eyes. He knew that look Ned knew that look. It was the look that no one will or can help me now

Kristina Ned said as he noticed what she was doing

Wheres my brother? Did either of you call him? What did you think he doesnt need to know?

Cassadine defense mode had kicked in.

Kristina you know we dont know where to find him.

No one knew where Stefan was. He had disappeared after he was found not guilty of Chloes murder and he told Alexis that he needed time to become a better man, maybe start a new life. Alexis couldnt disagree with him. He was better off far away hidden from Helena and the Cassadine Empire.

Alexis knows where he is, she wouldnt even tell me. How loyal can you be she said shaking her head and then looking down at Ned.

He deserved that look. He was starting to understand Alexis in his own way. But Sonny was right Ned would never understand her because he didnt understand the life she lead or the life that she had endured.


At the warehouse

Johnny told Sonny that Alexis had been in an accident as soon as he found out. Sonny immediately found out what he could. He knew that if he went to the hospital he would have to get through Jax and Ned so he decided he would hold off going for now.
The hospital told him she wouldnt be out of surgery for a couple more hours and then she would be in recovery. Sonny asked to be updated regularly and to be told immediately if anything had changed with her.
Sonny sat at his desk completely shaken by the thought of loosing her. He didnt have a word for his feelings for her but he respected her, he cared for her and he was connected to her.
He wanted to destroy the place out of anger but all he could do was replay the night before. What he wished hed said was how much he appreciated her, and what a great friend she was to him, what a brilliant woman she was
Sonny left orders not to be disturbed unless it was about Alexis.

Hours had passed and Ned, Jax and Kristina had moved up to ICU to wait on Alexis to come out of surgery.

Dr. Jacobs came through the swinging doors Ned, Jax and Kristina stopped and glared at him.

Are you the family of Alexis Davis?

Ned was quick to reply Yes

Shes out of surgery and we are moving her into the ICU now. Shes stable but critical. She did sustain a lot of blood loss but we have it under control.

When can we see her? Kristina said almost hesitantly at the person she might see.

Shes in recovery. Give us some time to settle her in and to make sure shes ok and well come get you as soon as possible.

All they could do was sit and wait.


I give you one simple task. All you had to do was kill her.

Helena looked completely annoyed at the incompetently of her boy toy.

Madam, we did the best we could under circumstances and besides she is critically injured.

I suppose her suffering is worth it
