Ned and Alexis had been gone for two days now. They had managed to have a wedding and get out of town before the rainstorms settled in Port Charles. It had been raining since the early morning after they left and two days later the rain had refused to let up. Tonight however, along with the rain a violent storm had come in and it was enough to keep both Kaley and Kristina unsettled.

What had unsettled Kristina more was the visit from Helena earlier that night.

Kristina opened the door expecting Jax.

Well, well if its not the bastard little sister, Helena said pushing her way through the front door passed Kristina.

Excuse me, Kristina said sounding annoyed rather than relinquishing the immediate fear that had come upon her.

I didnt see you inviting me in so I thought I would give my self the pleasure. I mean I wasnt invited to a housewarming or that foolish wedding how rude can Ned and Alexis be?

Get out Helena

Kristinas words were obviously powerless as Helena ignored them as if they were deaf to her ears.

Our Natasha has gotten herself quite an extravagant little home hasnt she?

Kristina watched as Helena eyed her surroundings. Then was caught off guard by her sudden bolt into the den.

And who do we have here? she said lifting up Kaley

Put her down NOW!

Now theres no need to shout. I only came to see my poor granddaughter

Shes not your granddaughter Helena, Kristina said snatching Kaley from her as Kaley began to cry

Now look what youve done youve made our little Kaley upset

Get out Helena or Im calling the police

Now, now very well my dear, my work here is done

Helena short visit and attempt to get her hands on Kaley confused Kristina, but Helena headed for the door and Kristina followed her.

Helena turned taking one last look at Kaley touching her face as Kristina turned her away. Then she glared at Kristina

Would you please tell Alexis that the name Kaley is such a horrid name for a little girl but I guess it doesnt matter anymore now does it?

Helena pronounced a wicked grin and walked out the door almost disappearing into the stormy night. Kristina kept repeating in her head what Helena had said, it didnt matter anymore and why she did knowing Helena always chose her words very carefully.

Kristina tried to shake Helena off knowing it was just her way of trying to addle her while Alexis was gone.

The sound of the thunder woke Kaley repeatedly after Kristina did all she could to get her to sleep. Kristina actually thought of calling Jax, but she thought it sounded childish to be scared as her niece and that the storm would pass through just as Helena did.

Kristina finally had Kaley sleeping and she laid her lamb beside her in her crib that played her lullabys to drown out the sound of the storm. Kristina worn out by trying to get Kaley to sleep decided that she would go and lie down.

Kristina fell asleep not too long after she lay down. She was sleeping lightly listening out for Kaley but also because despite her reassuring herself everything was fine she couldnt help but be spooked by Helena.

A crash of thunder rattled the window and Kristina jumped up. Her ears strained listening as the rain beat down on the house. She got up to check on Kaley. She was lying there just as Kristina had left her.

She looked so peaceful in the storm that played out around her. Kristina looked down at her lying in her crib and watched her breathe in and out. She couldnt help but grin listening to her take her little baby breaths.

Kristina went back to bed desperately trying to get through that night.

The next morning the sky still overcast but the storm seemed to have blown through and taken the rain with it. Kristina was awaked by the sound of the doorbell ringing repeatedly.

Ok give me a second, she said pacing herself as she went down the stairs

Kristina!

The sound of Jaxs voice was a comforting sound from the last surprise she received when she opened the door.

Hey

Good morning, I brought breakfast, he said making his way inside

Wheres my beautiful girl this morning

Actually shes still asleep. I just woke up and I havent heard a thing from her, she had a rough night though last night

Not mentioning the visit from Helena

That storm was something wasnt it? Jax said agreeing with her

Let me go get her. She would never forgive me if she knew her Jaxy poo was here

Cute, Jax said giving her a look

Kristina went upstairs calling Kaleys name. She looked down in her crib to see Kaley lying there

Hey sleepy head time for you to wake up

Kristina reached down placing her hand on Kaleys chest. She felt her faint, short breaths and she felt the chill from the touch of her head and her fingers

Kaley, Kaley! KALEY

KRISTINA Jax had heard her down stairs

JAX!!

Jax was standing there now trying to take in what was going on

Somethings wrong with her Jax shes barely breathing

Tears were already flowing uncontrollably down Kristinas face

General Hospital

Whens the last time she was awake?

About 9 or so last night

Had you checked on her since then?

Yes around 10:30, then I fell asleep. Is she ok

PLEASE!!!

And the ER doctors faded off behind the swinging doors as Kristinas pleas now echoed in the sterile ER

Kristina couldnt breathe and her eyes now burned from tears that refused to flow.

Oh god Jax!

Everythings gonna be ok Jax tried to reassure her but he himself was mystified by what all had just happened.

A few minutes later Monica came running out the ER. Kristina and Jax both looking desperate to know anything glared at her as she reached them.

Shes breathing and shes getting her color back, theyre monitoring her to try to figure out whats happened to her and thats all I know

But shes ok? Kristina said almost traumatized

Shes stable but theyre still trying to figure out what in the world is happening as if shes breathing on and off like its controlled

Kristina went and sat down on the couch trying to refocus from the news she had just received.

Have either of you called Alexis and Ned?

I will Jax said without hesitation knowing Kristina couldnt handle telling Alexis and her reaction

Kristina looked up at Jax

Jax shell freak out

Kristina she has to get here as soon as possible

Jax she said take care of her baby and I didnt

Jax sat down beside Kristina on the couch as he reached for his phone. He gripped her hand as the phone rang. He had a second to figure out how he would tell Ned and Alexis about their baby.
